Griefshare

Everyone experiences loss of loved ones through death. Sooner or later we will all walk the journey of grief.  A quote from Healing Hugs says, “I think the hardest part of losing someone isn’t saying goodbye, but rather learning how to live without them, always trying to fill the void,”   This year the isolation of dealing with the Covid  Pandemic just makes the loss seem worse!  In order to find your way from mourning to healing and restoration you may find that sharing your journey with a small group of others going through the same thing can help.  GriefShare is designed as a nondenominational program to help guide you through this season of grief with Biblical, Christian principles and lessons.  Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives.  We understand how you feel because we’ve been there. We will walk with you through the long journey toward healing and hope.

This fall St. Mark’s United Methodist Church will offer GriefShare on line.  Plans are in place to give you access to the videos and workbooks.  The group discussions will be offered on Zoom, beginning September 3 on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. You may call the church for more information at

540-992-3030.  Registrations are required. Once you have registered, someone will be in touch with more details about getting a workbook and accessing the videos.  If you have never used Zoom before, we will help you.

Everyone is welcome to join us for this 13 week small group, no matter how recently or long ago you experienced your loss.   Participants have said, “I thought it might be depressing, but honestly it felt good to know I am not alone.”
